General Admission Requirements

  • Program enrollment is based on a first-come, first-served basis by date of completed application. (A completed application includes all items required for enrollment.)
  • Persons seeking admission to a college must be at least 18 years of age or have a high school diploma or equivalent. For full-time programs, the applicant must declare an occupational objective and demonstrate reasonable potential for achieving that objective.
  • All persons who are required to register for the Federal Draft under 50 U.S.C. App. Section 453 are not eligible to enroll in any post-secondary school until they have registered with selective service.

Program-Specific Admission Requirements

Educational and admission requirements vary from program to program. 

Truck Driving

***Program Prerequisites***

Students must be eighteen (18) years of age, pass the medical exam required by the Department of Safety, and be in possession of a CDL permit prior to getting behind the wheel of TCAT tractor/trailers.

Massage Therapy

***Program Prerequisites***

18 years or older by the first day of class

High school diploma or GED

Pass a background check

 

Job Expectations

Massage therapy is a physically demanding profession. One typically stands for long periods of time (hour or two is common per session) and must use their hands, arms, and legs in performing the service. Many physical or mental conditions may preclude one from easily performing this work. Allergies to products, lifting issues, carpal tunnel, contagious diseases, diabetes, sickle cell anemia and many other conditions all have ramifications for massage therapy. Work is usually performed in areas with subdued lighting.

Good personal hygiene is a must in the health care industry.  Hair must be restrained. Fingernails MUST be no longer than the tips of the fingers.

Both men and women are in the classroom and you may work on or receive massage from any one of the students.  Draping is always used and required by law. 

Hybrid Practical Nursing

***Program Prerequisites***

All Hybrid Practical Nursing applicants must complete prerequisite classes in Anatomy & Physiology and Dosage Calculations. The application for A&P and Dosage Calculations can be found at the hyperlink below:

Practical Nursing (On-ground and Hybrid) Application

BACKGROUND CHECKS: If you are accepted into the Practical Nursing program,  you will be required to have a background check completed prior to clinical rotations. 

The cost of the background checks ​are not covered in the tuition or by financial aid.

 Students who have been CONVICTED OF A CRIME, may not be permitted to attend clinicals. If you are not allowed to take the clinical portion, you will not be able to complete the program requirements.

*Disclosure*: Please be advised that some convictions could prohibit nursing students from sitting for the National Council of Licensure Exam (NCLEX).

For Phlebotomy Re-certifications

Please follow the link to https://www.nhanow.com for the National Health Career Association (NHA)/National Allied Health Certifications.

Then click on  Certification. Choose the drop down menu and click on "Renew or Reinstate" for instruction on phlebotomy certifications
