Stories @ TCAT

On October 25, SkillsUSA at TCAT McMinnville held a pumpkin contest. Students at TCAT McMinnville are members of SkillsUSA which is a national organization that partners with technical colleges, students, and businesses.

For the 2018 contest, pumpkins were donated by Turner and Sons Nursery along with Warren Farmers’ Co-op. Prizes were donated by Lowes of McMinnville, Auto Zone, Applebee’s, Dr Pepper and First National Bank. Our outstanding judges were Don Alexander, James Clark, Carrie Huckeby, Debbie Morgan, Jenny Roberts, and Sigourney Younglove.

Also thanks to our welding students who created the pumpkin award plaques!

A total of fifteen entries were judged and winners were as follows:

1st place: Industrial Electricity Class, Mike Anderson-Instructor

Students’ Choice Award: Industrial Electricity Class, Mike Anderson-Instructor

2nd place: Industrial Maintenance Class, Tommy Dodd-Instructor

Thanks to all the students and staff who entered the contest and supported SkillsUSA!
